As the changes are still relatively new, let me know if there are any problems.

Where do we find the possible badges and where are our individual badges displayed?

The badges are displayed in several places, including forums and top participants stats pages. You should see a badge at the bottom of the user block in all your posts.

If you click on the badge icon it will bring you to the badge description page.

Nice, but I don't see them in my own account. Could you implement that too? Would be the easiest way to see for everyone...
All other projects with badges have that.

Hello,

Could you implement that in the page "show_user.php?userid=xxx"?
Would be easier to see for everyone.

Thank you

Sorry, I thought I posted a response after I made the change. I must have hit the preview button instead of the post button.

Sure, not a problem. I should have that in later tonight, so check back tomorrow.

I guess I missed several of these pages. Let me know if I missed any others.

Eric, why only a badge for the overall credit? I think it's more useful for the different subprojects/applications. But it could a problem that nowhere the creds for the different application is stored, or?

Yes, that's basically the problem. I'm using the built in user structure which only has elements for RAC and total credit. I'm not sure if the credit per application is even stored in the database.

I'm not sure how other projects do it. Maybe they added special fields to the database, or maybe it's easier to do with subprojects than with applications.

I am not against the idea of separate badges for the 2 applications, but I dont see a simple solution. If anybody has ideas, please let me know.

Perhaps contacting an admin at one of the other projects to see how they did it? That sounds like the simplist beginning to solving that problem.

Also, could you get the badges to show up under the list of members in teams. YoYo@home does this.

Yeah, I can do that. I am traveling this weekend, but should have some time next week.

Could we have a list, of the badges and credits required to achieve them, please? It's the obvious first thing everyone wants to know and it's not listed anywhere that I can find.

Thanks.

Hi Gary,

Below is a link to the list describing the badge requirements.

http://numberfields.asu.edu/NumberFields/badges.html

I'm not sure where the link to this page went from the home site. We will look into that.

I don't think I ever had a link directly from the home site, but I can add that. You can also click on any badge icon to bring up the list.

The stock home page you are using is busy enough as it is for many people's taste but it's up to you. IMHO clicking on a badge to see the badge legend is the perfect solution. I dunno, when I see something for which I want more info the very first thing I do is hover my mouse cursor on it to see it it's clickable or see if a tooltip pops up with more info. The entire graphical web paradigm is built on that "if curious about it see if it's clickable" kind of inquisitiveness.

Regarding the tooltip that pops up for the badges... they show the min. credits required to get the badge which is good but often people want to know the min. the credits for the next badge so they can get an idea of how many more credits they need to get it. So if you hover on the silver badge it would say like " > 100,000, next badge is gold at > 200,000". Like when people look at a clock they don't always want to know just the time, they often want to know how many more minutes/hours until event X happens.
