Why do I loose points in the last time? On april the 17th to the 18th and 26th to 27th.Two posts before yours, Eric explained why. And there was yet another db crash. This time the backup was only a few days old. This explains the point difference on April 27th. |

And there was yet another db crash. This time the backup was only a few days old. This explains the point difference on April 27th. This is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and us crunchers have the right to be extremely upset about the lack of proper backup protocols.

Sad that after the first crash nothing really changed. For me Gerasim is dead. I hope the Numberfield@home server will be last until the end of the project. Maybe it's time to search for another Project as a backup if the numberfields@home server dies? |

Please contact Yoyo from the Yoyo@home project to shift the processing from Gerasim to Yoyo@home as a new subproject. Gerasim simply is not reliable at all. Michael. P.S.: For the second time, I lost massive credits - in fact, the entire output from 2026 is gone (not just a month or so...). It was about 4 million credits, which is half of my total output for that project so far. Most importantly, however, is the fact that all the results are gone. That is useless CO2 production to foster climate change at its best... President of Rechenkraft.net |

Please contact Yoyo from the Yoyo@home project to shift the processing from Gerasim to Yoyo@home as a new subproject. yoyo is at least Gridcoin whitelisted like Numberfields is, and has maintained their whitelisting so there will be much better reliability. The only issue is the whitelisting page indicates they dont have GPU support https://gridcoin.us/guides/whitelist.htm |

Please contact Yoyo from the Yoyo@home project to shift the processing from Gerasim to Yoyo@home as a new subproject. I was downloading the results every week or two, so not much was lost. It was the crunchers who lost a ton of credit. Good to know about yoyo. I will give Gerasim a little more time - they are currently trying to find the root cause of the database crashes and are implementing more frequent backups. |

Have you tried complaining on the Gerasim boards? I have no control over their backup protocalls, I just upload work and download results. Gerasim's message boards never came back after that last major crash. Not like they were good for anything anyways...just like now. Maybe stop sending him work until you know he knows what the hell he is doing? I'm not trying to be an arse, but he has proven he SHOULD NOT be running a project. Please contact Yoyo from the Yoyo@home project to shift the processing from Gerasim to Yoyo@home as a new subproject. I like this idea. As long as there will be a GPU app for Windows I would happily support YoYo for this subproject. |

**** Meanwhile, NumberField@Home received about 80k completed and validated results from Gerasim. (I think this is not bad). :) **** Думаю "Maxtor 160 GB" - не самое подходящее место для бэкапа .. **** Всем привет и хорошего настроения! |

Please contact Yoyo from the Yoyo@home project to shift the processing from Gerasim to Yoyo@home as a new subproject. Well, the subprojects in Yoyo@home simply don't have GPU apps - yet. Of course, Eric needs to contact Yoyo for the details but to the best of my knowledge, anything could be integrated as long as the required Apps are supplied plus a proper specification of what are the input and what the output files. Agree. Whilst my loss of credits is low compared to others I have deselected Gerasim. I don’t like wasting time … |

**** "I don't think the "Maxtor 160 GB" is the most suitable place for a backup..." Seriously!? You just proved to the volunteers that you should not be running a project then. |

**** Maxtor? Are you saying that you are using about twenty years old HDD????? ETA: The only good thing that data recovery would be relatively cheap... |
