With the help of SerVal I dropped a batch of tasks on the Gerasim server. Currently just for windows cpu. The tasks are for the remainder of the subfield 3 search. Those users that are more interested in sf3 can get tasks from Gerasim - the only caveat is that you get Gerasim credit instead.

I think of this as a trial period, to see how it goes. Numberfields is not going away anytime soon, and Gerasim can run the sf3 tasks in parallel to the sf7 tasks currently running on NF. I will keep this up for as long as Gerasim and/or SerVal allows.

Hi all.
I added an application for nvidia opencl to NumberFields-Gerasim.
Theoretically, everything works, but Gerasim does not send tasks for Nvidia.
This is my second unsuccessful attempt. :(

To find out what's going on, I need to run Gerasim under a debugger, and look at the scheduler request / replay .
My suggestion is to count the current set and start investigating after Eric has all the results from the current set.

The problem is integrating the existing gpu app into the Gerasim server. Optimizing the CUDA or OpenCL code is a different problem altogether, not to mention a very difficult problem - it would take a guru of the highest order to improve the current code.

There are no errors. In 2-3 days I will transfer control of the "Get Decic Fields (nVidia)" application to Eric Driver.

They should see the community support and at least give basic support (like storage space).

I just recently joined so I am not sure if this has happened or not.

But clearly, the project has worth since it still exists.

Ever since I heard that this project was lacking support I've done a big push to get a lot of WU's completed.

I've been pushing for the rest of my team mates to get involved as well and we've pushed it quite a bit.

I'm always happy when a BOINC project runs out of work as it's been completed

Much progress has been made - sf3 is officially complete, sf7 is essentially complete, and we are making good progress on sf6. Also, the server hardware seems to be doing just fine.
