Hi

I have loads of WU that crashed with signal 5 error on my Mac :

<core_client_version>7.6.12</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
process got signal 5
</message>
<stderr_txt>
dyld: Library not loaded: /Users/eric/BOINC_Project/Pari/pari-2.8-1711-ge5c317c/Odarwin-i386/libpari-2.8.dylib

Reason: image not found

</stderr_txt>
]]>

There are all "Get Decic Fields v2.08".

The "Get Decics with Bounded Discriminant v3.05" are running fine.

I find *very* strange that a path to a library may be /Users/eric/BOINC_Project/Pari/ don't you think ;-)

Yes. It would appear that my make file grabbed the shared library instead of the static one (even though I use the -static compiler option).

I will look into this further.

It should be fixed now. Let me know if you still have problems.

For some reason it grabs the dynamic library first, even though I tell it to use the static version. It used to not do this. The only thing that seemed to work was deleting the dynamic library so it had no choice but to use the static one.

I now have a number of "Get Decic Fields v2.09" running for several hours and all seem fine so far.

Thanks for the quick and effective fix.

And I should thank you for reporting this. There are much fewer Mac users than other platforms so it makes it hard to notice anything is wrong unless I specifically search the database for Mac results.
