Thanks Eric, never thought about the driver version causing me headaches. I will try some older versions.

You can use this as a reference. I left it running for a bit, I was "lucky" enough to get some failures before it killed my system.

Just to start off, I am running all Tahiti gpus. I have a 280x, 7950's and 7970's. These cards support OpenCL 1.2.

When running a task, it will quickly use all of my ram (up to 32gb, my highest system). When it runs out of memory it will then use my page file in windows which brings my disk up to 100% and it does this until it crashes the system. I have tested this on three separate systems, same types of cards.

I changed my boinc settings to use no more than 50% of my memory, but it still does the same thing.

Is my card not supported?

There is only one GPU in the Top Computers list older than the Maxwell series successfully crunching the GPU WUs. It is a GTX 780. My GTX 1050 Ti has an average run time 20% faster than the GTX 780 and it uses less than half the electricity. Time to consider upgrading those Kepler and Fermi GPUs.

Regardless of the cards I am running, or the power you think I use, the card is compute 3.0 capable AND is running 418.56 drivers. It should work.

lol, I have cuda 10.1 and newer drivers and still no beuno. I guess I will wait for the OpenCL version.

Soooo, should I just give up trying on my 760 GTX? I read there are some issues on the 6xx series of cards, but does that extend to 7xx as well?

So it would appear 6xx cards have a problem with the gpu app. Most everyone with issues has that in common.

I am running a 7xx card.

lol, at least you guys are getting tasks. I just keep getting "got 0 new tasks".

I disabled cpu tasks, just to test the GPU versions. I am running driver 418.56 AND I have a compute 3.0 card. Are there any tasks or am I configured incorrectly?

There should be plenty of tasks available. And I see no reason why the scheduler would not give you work.

Is the 3.01 executable in your project directory? I had the same problem last night, where I had the old 3.00 executable and it wouldn't download the new exe or send new tasks...but it eventually started working.

It isnt downloading any master file at all. I reset the project and even tried removing and then adding it back. Folder remains empty and tells me the same issue as above. 0 tasks sent.

edit: Let me clarify... initially there was a 2.12 file in there, and I removed it and then reset the project. Since then, no new file has appeared.

edit2: waited the 3 minute requirement, clicked update and got 100 tasks. Thanks!

It seems like the 760 should be able to receive tasks. The app is Linux only so the 210 won't work. And it's to old.

Yeah, the 760 is the only one I'm using for it. The 210 does nothing. And in fact has never worked for BOINC ever lol
