I have a wu, that makes less and less progress, the longer it runns.
At36% it has already taken 45h and it is getting slower and slower.Should i abort it?

Sorry,
I am not familiar with these abbreviations.
Can i look it up somwere?

Hi,
I am doing a few short "bounded" tasks.
Even thoug, the runntime for these tasks are much less, than the time remaining displayed, before the task is started, the time remaining does not decrease for the unstarted tasks, no matter how many i am calculating.
Is this a boinc ,or a project thing?
It does work with Prime Grid.

I would not have said that , if i were.

Sorry,
Maybe, i should not have posted that on this channel.

So,
if i shut down everything non essential, overclock the living daylights out of the system, run benchmarks, upload the results to the project and throttle everything down to normal, i would get much more credits for the same work, until the next benchmark is run.
Correct?

Thanks Eric,
I have it back to normal, now.
Do you have any idea, how boinc works out, when to run a benchmark test by itself?

I checked the benchnark rating for my computer (9030) in this project and it was 1200/3340.
I ran a boinc benchmark and it was 2000/3340.
Then i rechecked my computer in this project, and it was the same.

If that is/was the problem, why is the benchmark result relevant for credits?
It should not be.

I checked the benchmark rating for my computer, that is attacht to the work unit report before and after the change in credits. There is no difference.

But even if the cpu benchmark in boinc is completly wrong, it should not affect the credits.
For the credits, it only matters, how long it took to compute, not what the benchmarks say.For approx. the same runtime(CPU time) of a task i am now getting much less credit.
The only thing, i changed recently is the language and the keyboard, but how could that possibly influence the credits?

Hi,
I have noticed, that finished Tasks reported in the last 2-3 days have 30-40% fewer credits than before.Same Application.
Why is that?

Hi,
I finished the last one.
WU726439.
"Too late for credits"
Will see, how the bounded discriminant tasks are doing.

HI,
I finally got two more tasks finished.
One i got credits for, but not for WU724693.
Run time 557h (23 days)!!
One more to go.

I checked the settings and they are OK.
However, i finished one (of the four)tasks.
The other 3 are listed as " timed out- no response " in my account.
Does this mean, that i will not get any credits?
The cpu time for the finished task is 1,083,110.00 sec (or 300h or 12.5 days)
Total run time 1,276,200.57(or 14.75 days.
Regarding the credits, this is about 5 credits/hour.

No, it is running without any interruptions and boinc only.
Running Ubuntu 11.04.(64-bit)
I did notice, that the cpu utilization is not anywhere near 100% for any of the tasks.
My guess, this is due to the application.

I have two tasks at about 64.3%, run time so far 321h( or 13.3 days),
If that is about the half way point, they will run for 26 Days total!!!!!!
Even for a slow (isch) computer, these kind of times are way, way too long!
Another task, also running for 321h is at 82%.

This is the other end of extreme.
Milkyway mt cpu tasks are running for between 5 and 40 seconds each.
The download and upload takes longer than that--very inefficient.
That is ridiculous as well.

My tasks have been running continuously for 290h (about 11 days).
The deadline was mar-9 11 pm.
Calculating from the the percentage done, it will take another 8 days to finish.
How is the remaining time calculated?
The progress of these tasks are very non linear.

Thanks,frankenhagen.
It runs 4 tasks at the same time.
However, for what it's worth, it runs completely and directly on solar power.
It only needs 15W to run, so in terms of energy efficiency, it is very good.
Total computing power is not exactly great.

The tasks have been running for about 168 hours and reached about 57 %.
They might need another 7 days or so.

I have some tasks on a slow computer.
Do i abort the task?
They have been running for 5 days and are about 50% done with the deadline reached already.

On a side note:Should the project/ boinc not have prevented this?
