In due course, NumberFields will take its place in the requesting cycle. What is the point of an Update button, if it doesn't update anything? How long is this requesting cycle supposed to take?

And thanks to David Anderson for the quick fix. I got a "Notices" indicator in the Boinc Manager that there was a new post in this subscribed thread, but still no email notice. That is a first for me.

After the DNS change finally went through overnight, I was still unable to communicate with the project. I had to restart the boinc client to get it to work. Not sure if you're having a similar issue, but you could always try that. I'm still not getting email notices. I'm only answering this post because I'm checking in on the thread looking for your responses. I tried to Suspend the other projects so only NumberFields was operational, but that didn't help either. Sometimes I have to do that to get WCG to send me WUs. (Message 828) Posted 4 May 2013 by Gandalf_the_Grey Post: We had a volunteer named Erno who actually did the OpenCL port and got something working. If I recall, a portion of the computation was still being done on the cpu, and the overall speed improvement was something like 20%. We've been meaning to look at it some more to see if we could find ways to improve the speed. With WCG's completion of their HCC1 project, crunchers will be looking for a home for their GPUs. A WU that can function with an app_config.xml configuration of 0.2C + 0.2ATI (as the Hcc1 did) would surely expedite the completion of your projects as well. It is my understanding that WCG realized their project's completion two or three years ahead of time. That fact by itself should stimulate the interest of any Project coordinator. I am not a programmer, but IMO the GPU trick is to keep the WUs small. Respectfully, Gandalf
