Hello everyone, I am trying to run Numberfields@Home on a new Minisforum X2 Pro mini PC powered by an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H with integrated Intel Arc [B390] graphics, running Ubuntu Linux. However, the BOINC client fails to detect the graphics hardware entirely on startup: Plaintext Thu 24 Sep 2026 04:19:12 PM CEST | | No usable GPUs found Additionally, when initializing the project, the scheduler checks for CPU, NVIDIA, and AMD/ATI tasks, but Intel Arc hardware is omitted or unsupported because the client doesn't expose the device: Plaintext Thu 24 Sep 2026 04:51:07 PM CEST | Numberfields@home | Tasks for CPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them Thu 24 Sep 2026 04:51:07 PM CEST | Numberfields@home | Tasks for NVIDIA GPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them Thu 24 Sep 2026 04:51:07 PM CEST | Numberfields@home | Tasks for AMD/ATI GPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them Here are my hardware details: Device Name: Intel Corporation Panther Lake [Arc B390] PCI ID: 8086:b082 OS: Ubuntu Linux (BOINC client version 8.2.13) Could support or device recognition for this newer Intel Arc integrated graphics platform be added so it can be utilized for Numberfields@Home tasks? Thank you for your time and help! |

Update: Solved / Issue Resolved Just following up on this—I managed to get the Intel Arc B390 (08086:b082) iGPU fully recognized and working on Ubuntu Linux. The core issue was missing OpenCL runtimes on the fresh Ubuntu installation. Once I installed the proper package: sudo apt install intel-opencl-icd The BOINC client immediately picked up the device via the OpenCL 3.0 NEO runtime, and NumberFields@home is now successfully downloading and crunching tasks on the integrated graphics. Leaving this here in case anyone else runs into the "No usable GPUs found" error with newer Panther Lake hardware on Linux! PrimeGrid and Einstein@Home are now also working, getting igpu tasks, thanks to this fix! |
