Were there any changes to NumberFields@Home on July 29th? I'm a Gridcoin user, and NF@H has been greylisted the past 5 days. Other Gridcoin users have mentioned the stats directory and users.gz file are still showing up in the correct place, frequency, and are accessible, and that it may be an IP ban on the data scraper. Are there any changes that would need to be made if it is indeed an IP ban to prevent future issues?

Nothing has changed with the NumberFields server, so I am not sure what the problem is. Is there an admin for gridcoin who can explain why it was greylisted?

Yes, the main Gridcoin developer Jim Owens says you are blocking one of our scraper IP addresses. We need 3 scrapers to pull each projects stats to reach consensus and right now for over 5 days, only two of our scrapers are able to contact Numberfields@home to scrape the daily stats.
This is his post on our Discord server.

Based on the scraper logs it looks like an IP blocking issue. Looks like only 2 scrapers are able to pull down the statistics, which is less than the minimum required for a convergence at the project level.

If you could join us on our Discord server, you could converse with him directly. Here is the server invite.

I have a feeling the university firewall is blocking the IP address. I will need to contact them to whitelist the specific IP address.

For some reason the discord server keeps saying "Messages Failed To Load", but I can see messages on other servers, so not sure what the problem is there.

All I really need is the exact IP address that is being blocked so that I can open a ticket with the university IT people. Do you happen to have that?

I DM'd Jim Owens to contact you here on this thread.
If you click the "whitelisting-committee" channel over in the left panel, the messages should load for you.

My bad, I needed to agree to the terms before it would allow me to see the channel.

I'm just waiting now for the IP address before I can request the university to white list it.

Numberfields@home is back in good graces with Gridcoin. All scrapers are able to pull stats.

Thanks so much for working with us on this issue, Eric.

And thanks to the university IT department for quickly working with you.

I'm not sure if the ticket with IT went through yet. I have a feeling it got fixed when Jim brought another scraper back online.

But there were some scrapers being blocked and the ticket with IT should fix those going forward, so hopefully we will be safe for a while.

I wasn't aware that Jim had put another scraper online. As long as 3 scapers reach consensus, the stats can be validated and the project whitelisted. So 3 of 4 scrapers with one still blocked would work also. Let's hope the IT dept can unblock all scrapers in the future.
