Good to hear! I guess my theory was right. And apparently you were not the only one with this problem- the number of WUs in progress has almost doubled since last night.

Thanks for helping me diagnose this problem!

Due to the faulty grace period, there have been a handful of users who returned successful results after the deadline and were deemed "too late". I manually granted credit to these results in an amount equal to the canonical credit.

In the short term, we are more interested in the GetDecics results. So as an extra incentive to get users to run the GetDecics app, we are granting 50% more credits to all successful GetDecics results. This will be for a short time, until the current batch (14x121) is complete.

How much is left of this hot GetDecic batch?

There are about 1000 WUs left, most of which have already been issued. But many of these will end up being aborted, timed out, etc; so it could still be a week or more before the batch is complete.

I released the next batch of WUs so that we don't run out of work. Since these are still for the GetDecics app, the extra credits will still apply. (run times will also be much improved)

There is no reason why this level of credit cannot be kept on a permanent basis.

My only concern is legitimacy and fairness within the boinc community; I personally don't care about the credits. This particular batch was "extra hard", so it warranted paying out higher credits. Now if there was evidence that the standard boinc credits for this project were below what was considered typical, then I would consider making this a permanent change.

I will wait to hear what others have to say. I know Richard Haselgrove participates in this project and he has ties to the bonc community; maybe he has an opinion on this matter.

Just a quick status...

There are now less than 400 of the slow WUs left. At our peak we were processing about 250 of these per day; unfortunately, this rate can't be maintained (but only for this batch). I estimate about another week or two before I can declare the batch complete.

The next two batches have been released and are progressing nicely.

I will post a message when the 14x121 batch is complete and the extra credits come to an end.

Thanks for all your contributions, especially with this batch of extra long WUs.

No problem Erik, your work is our play.

The bonus you have been giving us is just icing on the cake and much appreciated (it also helped me get to the Million milestone).

We are now down to the last 40 of the "pesky" WUs. I estimate these will be mostly finished within the next week. So... the extra credits will cease 1 week from today (April 24th). If there are any of the DS14x121 WUs still outstanding at that point, I will manually grant credit to those users (so no need to abort them).

Thank you all for your contributions. I hope you all decide to stick around after we go back to normal credits.

Also, for any mac users out there, the mac port is almost ready, so be sure to check back in for that.

As of a few minutes ago, the 50% bonus credits have finally been turned off. There are 3 of the troublesome WUs remaining, and I will manually grant the bonus credits to those users upon completion (as promised).

Thanks for all your contributions and for sticking with us through this tough batch of WUs.
