Eric:

Please add a wallet address for Gridcoin. As a resource provider I want to donate some of my earnings to you so that you can offset the cost of this project.

Many Thanks,

Prescott

Thanks for offering your hard earned Gridcoins!

Several years ago the math department looked into the prospect of accepting donations. I can't remember the reason why but it was decided against. It may have been against university policy, it may have been a legal issue, or it may have been deemed not worth the trouble. Whatever the reason, I am re-opening the question to the department and I will get back to you with an answer in the next several days.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I've been dealing with the database crash.

I wish I had a better answer, but unfortunately, if we were to accept donations (of any kind), the math department would have to get the university bureaucracy involved and that is a huge pain in the butt. Basically, they feel it's not worth the trouble and don't want to deal with it.

There must be some other worthy projects that will accept your offer? I'd be curious to know if other projects hosted at universities have similar bureaucratic issues.

But thanks anyways for the generous offer!
