I was wondering if there are plans to implement a 32-bit version, since the majority of the BOINC community still uses 32-bit processors.

Do you mean 32 bit for linux? Because the windows app is 32 bit. I was planning on doing the 32 bit for linux but my higher priority was getting the mac port and the 64-bit windows port first. I didn't realize there was a high demand for the 32 bit linux version.

Sorry that I forgot to clarify. I meant a 32-bit version, I am running a PPC mac and a 32-bit Intel linux computer and would like to contribute to this project with the linux computer.
Thanks, Jon

We should be able to get that ported in the near future.

It looks like this is going to take longer than I expected. The last 2 weeks I've been dealing with other more serious server related issues. And I will be going on vacation for about a week. So it will probably be a few more weeks before I get to it.

Bump!

I attached a 32-bit Linux computer to this project and it is sitting idle waiting for you :-) meanwhile my 64-bit Linux computer is plugging along.

Any update to the ETA for Linux 32-bit? thanks!

Yeah, sorry about that. It seems like there's always something more pressing to do. It's not a simple task because I need to get 32bit versions of all the libraries we use before I can build it. As soon as I have a free weekend, I will do it.

As you've probably seen from the news items, the 32bit apps are finally available.

The process turned out to be easier than I thought. I ended up using a 32bit linux virtual machine. The worst part was setting up the virtual machine and installing all the necessary 32bit libraries; but even that only took several hours.
