I can't say I've ever seen that problem before. But all results for that WU failed for the same reason "couldn't get input files". It's as if the file was not on the server. I will look into it further when I get home from work (I cant ssh while at work).

You say 5 or 6 of these? That's disturbing.

Getting the exact same error as well. Under transfers tab it seems stuck too.

I spotted more than 60 of this.
e.g. this one http://numberfields.asu.edu/NumberFields/workunit.php?wuid=12666137

Looks like the files are missing. Allways the same error.

I think i got a temporary fix for it. Suspend Network activity and allow again. This made it complete the download. Also looks like it's only the application itself that has trouble downloading, the workunits themselves are fine.

I looked at this last night and it seems to be a continuous block of files that were having the problem.

For those who don't know, when the create_work script is run, BOINC copies the WU data file from the download directory into a sub-directory (which appears to be random). The odd thing is that the "missing" files were in the download directory (like they should be), but they could not be found in any of the sub-directories. Files to either side of the "missing" block were found in both the download directory and a subdirectoy. So something went wrong when copying those files, but I'm not sure exactly what. Whatever happened, it seems to have corrected itself.

(which appears to be random)

There's a horribly complicated formula based on three characters from the MD5 of the filename, but I'm not going to bother looking it up.

Oh, all right then.

WOW! Where on earth did that come from?
