You may have noticed the bounded app is running out of work. I am currently pre-filtering the next set and they should be ready in about a day. In the meantime, there is plenty of work for the standard app.

If you are wondering what happened, the pre-filtering takes about a week and I was unprepared by the recent onslaught of crunchers over the last couple weeks (which is a good thing of course!).

The new work units are now available for crunching.

I started to pre-filter the next data set. Hopefully that will finish before the current batch runs out.

It is interesting, why when we start a new bounded search item then quite many items have already completed.

For example, "WUs completed" = 102669 for "SF40-0_Idx6" ?

Thanks.

That is because the pre-filter weeds out anything less than 10 seconds and the remaining WUs get uploaded to the project server for processing. So the initial "WUs completed" is the number of WUs that were finished by the pre-filter. Sometimes I forget to enable the entry in the batch status table, so the initial value can sometimes contain a day or two of user-returned results, but the vast majority are from the pre-filter.

And those "less than 10 seconds" tasks are calculated by your "pre-filter" (and not by us)?

So the bounded app is running dry again... The new WUs should be ready in about 10 hours (give or take a few hours).

The latest batch of WUs have been uploaded.

You were running out of work because because those of using our corporate servers were able to switch to running 24 *7 for nearly two weeks!

And that would explain the up tick in the FLOPS.

It still appears to be running hot. I disconnected my one computer from the project so I could run 2 cases simultaneously through my pre-filters, and I am still having problems keeping up...

You can switch to the decic app, which has longer runtime. As you can see the number of units per Subfield is going lower.
