Hi,
I have noticed, that finished Tasks reported in the last 2-3 days have 30-40% fewer credits than before.Same Application.
Why is that?

It does appear that your credits/hour have gone down. I checked my own, and for every host my credit rate has remained constant over the last few days. Did you recently rerun benchmarks? Because nothing has changed on the server side that would change your credit rate.

I checked the benchmark rating for my computer, that is attacht to the work unit report before and after the change in credits. There is no difference.

But even if the cpu benchmark in boinc is completly wrong, it should not affect the credits.
For the credits, it only matters, how long it took to compute, not what the benchmarks say.For approx. the same runtime(CPU time) of a task i am now getting much less credit.
The only thing, i changed recently is the language and the keyboard, but how could that possibly influence the credits?

I checked the benchnark rating for my computer (9030) in this project and it was 1200/3340.
I ran a boinc benchmark and it was 2000/3340.
Then i rechecked my computer in this project, and it was the same.

If that is/was the problem, why is the benchmark result relevant for credits?
It should not be.

I believe it's always worked that way. That's why slower computers get less credit per hour than faster computers.

I have noticed this first hand. My computer has 12 virtual cores, but only 6 physical cores. Boinc uses the virtual number, so acts like I have 12 cores. I don't like to overload my system so I usually run with number of cpus set to 50%, so boinc only uses 6 threads. If I bump it up to 100%, then boinc computes benchmarks before running 12 threads. My credit per thread will almost drop in half, but I am running twice as many threads, so total credit remains about the same. Makes sense to me.

Thanks Eric,
I have it back to normal, now.
Do you have any idea, how boinc works out, when to run a benchmark test by itself?

I guess you could run benchmarks when you notice your credits drop like they did here. But you shouldn't need to run the benchmarks manually. It seems like I change one little thing and boinc automatically recomputes the benchmarks. I'm wondering if boinc ran your benchmarks when your computer was in the middle of a large computational load.

So,
if i shut down everything non essential, overclock the living daylights out of the system, run benchmarks, upload the results to the project and throttle everything down to normal, i would get much more credits for the same work, until the next benchmark is run.
Correct?

Please don't. We will just get complaints about it until it self-corrects.

That's fine but it might look like you are trying to game the system.

I believe that is correct. Unless the boinc client is smart enough to recognize that you've throttled it and then run new benchmarks.

We've given this subject a bit of a working-over on the BOINC message board, as well - you might find it helpful to take a peek:
