At the risk of sounding like a broken record, another subfield is about to be completed. We are now moving on to subfield 18, the one with discriminant 104. Thanks again to all our crunchers!

Your regular announcements are sweet music, not a broken record. Happy New Year to the project devs/admins and all the crunchers who keep the sweet music flowing.

What will happen when we hit subfield 49 out of 49?

Then will start a second app for the primitive fields.

Quote from Batch Status:

To be more precise, the current application finds the imprimitive fields; the primitive ones will be found at a later time (requires a new app).

As Aurel suggests we can do the primitive fields. Of course that could be years from now - the project has been running a little over 2 years and we are not even half way through the imprimitive ones.

Or we may concentrate resources on the "unbounded" app.

The normal, unbounded, needs more somputation time, so it´s more important to work on these. Thats the reason, why we need an higher Flop/s rate, e.g. more computers.

I think it need 2,5 years to compute all in the bounded[only imprimitiv] part, and 4-6 years in the normal part.

I don´t wanna make an add, but this can help a little bit:

It´s a crownfunding project on an school in Germany, they need ~10,000€, to buy 30 Laptops. I would speak with the leader, with an little bit luck, they will compute for BOINC. That mean 1-3 houres per Laptop (30-90 houres of computing per day)
