Actually, the 480k units were from my filter that weeds out the fast WUs (<10sec). When I flip the switch to display the new batch of WUs it appears that they were all completed at once, when in fact it took about 3 weeks to run the filter.

Did you used the windows PowerShell? (PS is an nice tool e.g. for filtering, but it will only use 25% CPU at maximum.)
I prefer PS for searching primes n=<10^9. (more is not possible in PS->need to progamm this into PARI or Perl)

No, it's a shell script which runs the actual app with a timeout of 10 sec.
