So I have decided to double the credits. This will get it closer to the PrimeGrid credits and I think this will make most people happier. If necessary I can always put it back later.

Has the change in credits been implemented now?

Short answer: Yes, credits are too small here.

Longer answer: Try doing come crunching with your own machines on other projects. PrimeGrid is a good baseline, a good place to start. Run your CPUs there against one of their LLR sub-projects, and run your GPUs on their PPS sub-project. That should give you a good benchmark to compare to what you generate against this project. Then consider offering bonus rates for unusual things that you may require for your project, for example large memory requirements, or long running times without checkpoints, etc.

Your news feed said that we are on the last field now. Can you please explain what that means?

1. Is the project finished?
2. Are the existing 2 sub-projects finished
3. Will there be new apps? If so, when?

Thanks

As allready said, the last SF is running.

But, by the looks of the Batch Status page, aren't most of the Idx's yet to have their work distributed? Why are we dry on the Bounded App already? :)

In the short term, we are more interested in the GetDecics results. So as an extra incentive to get users to run the GetDecics app, we are granting 50% more credits to all successful GetDecics results. This will be for a short time, until the current batch (14x121) is complete.

How much is left of this hot GetDecic batch?

Any chance of an app for our GPUs? I know some math does not port well to GPUs. But maybe this one would?

FYI, I am now getting:

15214 NumberFields@home 3/14/2012 4:27:30 PM update requested by user
15219 3/14/2012 4:28:31 PM Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
15220 3/14/2012 4:28:32 PM Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

And at this same time, the server status page is all green. No problem getting to other projects.

I wonder if this could have something to do with BAM? Maybe they are using the wrong URL to attach to the project, and it leading to all these issues?

Edit: Nope. Not a BAM issue. I just detached from BAM, detached from the project, and attached manually via BOINCmgr:

Estimated time to completion on sandy bridge is ~1 hour. I thought these ran ~2 days?

Edit: If these are really ~2 days long each, I will have a cache of 24 days per core. What's the deadline again?

From the front page:

Minimum System Requirements:

Intel/Amd processor.
At least 128MB of ram free.
32MB of free disk space.
Windows, Linux or Mac (x86) OS.

Is there an OSX planned to be released? I don't see one on the applications page.
