Hi all,

I note I have only 8 to 9 Wu´s here, but realy often these are in 1-3 minutes computed and then I must wait for some new WU´s.
There must be an error, on my laptop I have normaly up to 80 WU´s, with the same options.

Maintain enough tasks to keep busy for at least
(max 10 days):
10 days

...additional: 8 days.

Can you fix it?

Are you sure you are looking at the right preferences. It's possible to set preferences separately for home, school, and work. Also, at the top of the preferences page is the following statement:
"These apply to all BOINC projects in which you participate. On computers participating in multiple projects, the most recently modified preferences will be used."
Could that be your problem?

ARGG, yes. It should be fixed now. The computer was at "home" and not default.
"home" has the preference with 0,1 day(s).

Now getting more WU´s. :)

Thanks.

I noticed my laptop had a similar issue. Looking at the network usage tab under Tools -> Computing preferences, I noticed that "Minimum work buffer" was set to .1 days. I changed that to 1 day and after updating the project I got a ton more WUs. Maybe that's your problem too.

In summary, all 4 account preferences (default, home, work, school) were set to 1 day, but the manager was using the value from the Computing preferences menu.

Ok, yes. That has one problem, but now...it´s not better. :(
no change...

I´ll check it after my work.

The "max. work buffer" was at 0,25 days, now it´s on 4 days. ;)

And so it would. Changing anything on BOINC Manager's Computing Preferences dialog - heck, even looking at something and clicking 'OK' - creates/edits a global_prefs_override.xml file, which controls all settings from that moment onwards. You can either go on using the Manager settings for everything you want to change, or you can use the 'clear' button to delete the file and revert to using the web based settings.

But you can't mix the two.
